How can NWI sell a carrier’s network services for
less than
carriers themselves?
Competition was introduced in the US telecom market in the 1980’s. When
this happened, carriers set up separate wholesale and retail sales
organizations for selling network services. The purpose of
the separation was to create a “level playing field” between
new market entrants and the incumbent carriers by requiring carriers
to sell their network services to their competitors at the same wholesale
rates they sold them internally to their retail sales organizations.
